Roger Waters has released a reimagined version of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" featuring Palestinian singer Mona Miari, and says he hopes listeners will come to view the track as "prophetic". In an interview with WIRED published on 27 July 2026, the former Pink Floyd frontman said the 1979 song, taken from The Wall, is "on the right side of history" and reflects his continued support for Palestinians amid Israel's actions in Gaza. He also used the interview to firmly reject renewed accusations of anti-Semitism that have followed his outspoken stance.

"Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined", released in June 2026 and running over nine minutes, alters the song's famous refrain to "I will never become comfortably numb" and includes new Arabic verses sung by Miari, invoking themes of resistance, freedom and steadfastness (sumūd). Miari said she hoped listeners would one day hear the track as a testament to a free Palestine, while Waters dismissed claims his work is anti-Semitic with an expletive-laden denial, insisting he has "never" harboured such views.
