A Victorian doctor, identified only as WLD under a tribunal suppression order, has been struck off and barred from applying for re-registration for six years after findings of extensive professional misconduct. The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found that his conduct—including family violence, unsafe clinical practice, improper prescribing and breaches of COVID-19 restrictions—undermined public trust in the medical profession.

The tribunal found 16 counts of professional misconduct and one of unprofessional conduct. It cited his 2021 assault on his former wife, inappropriate treatment of chaperones and family members, a prescription issued in his infant son’s name for medication intended for adults, and 250 prohibited cosmetic appointments involving 232 patients during lockdown; two cosmetic patients were hospitalised. It also found he gave inadequate care to a young patient with complex mental-health and substance-use issues who later died from a drug overdose.
