Ron Perlman has joined the cast of Seasons, a horror thriller directed by Drew Hancock for Amazon MGM Studios, taking a role alongside Lily James and Jack Reynor. The casting adds another high-profile name to the project, which is moving towards a September production start in Ireland, and comes as Perlman also prepares to return to his Sons of Anarchy role in FX's forthcoming spinoff series.
The film, written by Hancock (director of Companion) and adapted from a book by Matt and Harrison Query, follows a couple who buy their dream ranch only to find the land inhabited by ancient spirits, forcing them into increasingly disturbing seasonal rituals to survive. Reynor and James play the husband and wife, while Perlman will portray a neighbour familiar with the sinister rituals. The project is produced by 21 Laps' Shawn Levy and Dan Levine, Blumhouse Atomic Monster's Jason Blum and Michael Clear, and 12:01 Films' Scott Glassgold, with Dan Cohen also producing. Perlman is currently starring in Apple TV+'s Cape Fear and remains best known for playing Hellboy.
