Rotherham United have signed striker Paul Mullin on a two-year deal following his departure from Wrexham, where he had become a fan favourite during the club's rapid rise up the English football pyramid. The 31-year-old built his reputation with prolific scoring in League Two before struggling for form and game time in his final season at Wrexham, and the Millers will be hoping he can rediscover that earlier goalscoring touch in League Two.

Mullin scored 91 goals in 148 league appearances for Wrexham as they rose from the National League to the Championship, but his last league outing for the club came in January 2025, and he spent last season on loan at Wigan and Bradford, managing just four goals in 29 League One appearances. His Wrexham contract was terminated by mutual consent in June. He previously hit 32 goals in 46 games to help Cambridge United to promotion in 2020-21, and 24 in 38 as Wrexham went up in 2023-24. He could make his Rotherham debut in the EFL Cup first round against West Brom on 8 August.
