Rotherham sign goalkeeper Eyestone on loan

Rotherham United have strengthened their goalkeeping options by signing American goalkeeper Julian Eyestone from Brentford on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old, who stands at 6ft 6ins, arrives as the Millers look to secure an immediate return to League One after being relegated to League Two.

Eyestone, a Texan, is a US youth international who trained with the senior USA squad during this summer's World Cup campaign. He joined Brentford in 2024, featured on the bench for their FA Cup third-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday in January, and helped the club's Under-21s reach the Premier League Cup final before being promoted to the first-team squad a year ago. He will now compete with Ted Cann for the number one jersey ahead of Rotherham's League Two opener at Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
