Rumour: Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 & 2 Switch Ports Supposedly “Not Planned”

Nintendo Life · 2 months ago

Activision this week shadow-dropped Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 on PS4 and PS5, prompting speculation about whether the two older shooters might also come to Nintendo hardware. According to a rumour reported by Insider Gaming and sourced from Call of Duty specialist CharlieIntel, versions for Nintendo's current systems are "not planned", suggesting Switch and Switch 2 owners will not receive these particular re-releases.

For now, the only Call of Duty title confirmed for the Switch 2 is Modern Warfare 4, due on 23rd October 2026 and set for a simultaneous launch across all platforms. It will be the first Call of Duty on a Nintendo device since Microsoft's 10-year commitment to bring the series to Nintendo hardware, a deal that became legally binding in 2023. Nintendo Life notes the report is unconfirmed and says it will monitor for any changes, while commenters expressed scepticism about how many entries the agreement will actually deliver.

  • Black Ops 1 and 2 reportedly not planned for Nintendo systems.
  • Modern Warfare 4 remains the only confirmed Switch 2 Call of Duty.
  • It launches on 23rd October 2026 across all platforms.
