Progressive rock band Rush has ruled out recording new material whilst maintaining their intensive 50 Something Tour, which has already encompassed multiple North American cities and will continue through next year. Frontman Geddy Lee indicated the band lacks capacity for creative work alongside live performance demands, stating they remain focused on executing their existing catalogue.

Lee acknowledged the band's awareness that performing years are finite, describing their current touring period as gratifying despite physical realities. After completing their North American commitments, Rush plans extended touring throughout 2027 across Europe and South America, suggesting new studio work could only feasibly occur once these obligations conclude.
