The film received a rare D CinemaScore, the lowest grade awarded on the platform in the past five years, a distinction it shares with Joker: Folie à Deux. This stands in sharp contrast to The Pope's Exorcist, which grossed almost $80 million worldwide against an $18 million budget and holds a 50% score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it Crowe's highest-grossing recent leading role.
