Jonny Clayton won the New Zealand Darts Masters for the first time, beating fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price 8-4 in Auckland. The result gives Clayton his second World Series title and reverses the outcome of the pair’s 2022 New Zealand final, underlining his strong form against a high-quality field.

Clayton reached the final by defeating top seed Gian van Veen and James Wade, then built a 5-1 lead with checkouts of 72, 158, 80 and 62. Price recovered three legs after trailing 7-1 but Clayton sealed victory with a 124 finish; Price had earlier beaten Damon Heta 6-2 and Raymond Smith 7-2. The World Series regular season ends at the Australian Darts Masters next weekend, before the Finals in Amsterdam from 17 to 20 September.
