Ryan Gosling's production company, Open Invite, is working with Warner Bros on an early-stage, live-action reboot of The Flintstones, this time centred on a grown-up Bamm-Bamm rather than Fred and Wilma's original crew. The project reunites Gosling's producing ambitions with Warner Bros as he continues an unusually packed slate, and it raises the tantalising possibility that he could himself take on the role of Bamm-Bamm, echoing his acclaimed turn as Ken in Barbie.

According to Deadline, Gosling and Open Invite partner Jessie Henderson are currently searching for a writer, with no casting or story details yet decided. Bamm-Bamm, the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble, first appeared as a baby in the 1960s cartoon, later grew into a teenage band member in the 1970s spin-off, and also featured in the 1994 live-action film. Whether Gosling will act in the project remains unclear, especially given his busy schedule, which already includes Star Wars: Starfighter (2027) and his MCU debut as Ghost Rider (2028) — and Warner Bros may in any case prefer to prioritise a potential Barbie sequel, its highest-grossing film.
