Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another "Deadpool" film will "eventually" happen, following the huge box-office success of 2024's "Deadpool & Wolverine." Speaking at a Fanatics Fest panel over the weekend, the actor suggested the next instalment could draw on lesser-known material from the character's comic-book history rather than simply repeating past storylines. Marvel has not yet responded to requests for comment on the plans.

Reynolds said there were "a few really deep cuts" missing from both the films and the comics that he would like to incorporate, citing the work of Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza and writer Gerry Duggan as inspiration. This builds on comments he made in April, when he revealed he had already started writing a script for Deadpool's next big-screen appearance, though he said the character would likely be a supporting figure rather than the central focus. Reynolds has also played down speculation that Deadpool will appear in the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday," reiterating past remarks that the character works best as an outsider who never fully joins the Avengers or X-Men.
