Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Ali G: Who Iz I?’ Sets October Release From Amazon MGM

Sacha Baron Cohen and Amazon MGM Studios have confirmed the release date for his secretly filmed Ali G film, "Ali G: Who Iz I?", which arrives in cinemas on 23 October. The announcement, made via an in-character Instagram video, marks Cohen's feature directorial debut and revives the mockumentary character he first created in the late 1990s, extending the comic tradition he built with the "Borat" films.
Cohen filmed the project covertly, mirroring the secrecy behind "Borat" in 2006 and its 2020 sequel. Ali G debuted on Channel 4's "The 11 O'Clock Show" in 1998, later headlining "Da Ali G Show" and the 2002 film "Ali G Indahouse", with the character renowned for unsettling real interviewees including Noam Chomsky and Newt Gingrich. Cohen has recently appeared in Marvel's "Ironheart" and two 2026 comedies, and has previously earned Oscar nominations for the "Borat" films and "The Trial of the Chicago 7".
