Paris and Berlin-based sales company Salaud Morisset has acquired worldwide sales rights to A Bit of Light, the new feature from Iranian director Ali Asgari, ahead of its world premiere in the Main Competition at the Venice Film Festival. The deal marks a significant milestone for Asgari, whose previous work has featured at major festivals including Cannes, Berlin and Venice, but who has not before been selected for Venice's top competition strand.

The film follows a disillusioned doctor in contemporary Iran who, after being arrested and having his medical practice closed, decides to end his life and spends his final day visiting family to say goodbye. It is Asgari's sixth feature, following titles such as Disappearance, Until Tomorrow, Terrestrial Verses and last year's Divine Comedy. Salaud Morisset's head of sales, Paul Jullien, praised the film as "powerful" yet "delicate" and "filled with hope", while Asgari described it as exploring the bonds and small moments of hope that sustain people amid hardship in Iran. The Venice Film Festival runs from 2–12 September 2026.
