Hard rock band Saliva has released a new single, "Longshot", complete with an official music video, featuring a guest appearance from Johnny Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The track is the closing song on the band's forthcoming album, "Breaking Through", due for release on 14 August via Judge & Jury Records, and forms part of a broader push featuring several notable guest musicians.

The 13-track album also includes collaborations with Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch and Austin John Winkler of The Founder. Saliva, fronted since 2011 by Bobby Amaru, first broke through in the early 2000s with hits such as "Click Click Boom" and the Grammy-nominated "Your Disease", and continued despite the 2023 death of founding guitarist Wayne Swinny. Their most recent release was 2025's "Revelation: Retold", and Amaru has separately discussed in interviews how the band has endured 15 years after Josey Scott's departure as original singer.
