Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Tab S12 series, with the Plus model receiving a substantial refresh of the two-year-old Tab S10 Plus, whilst the Ultra variant carries over largely unchanged from last year's Tab S11 Ultra. The Tab S12 Plus represents a meaningful upgrade for existing owners of older models, featuring a larger and brighter display, improved processor, and a bigger battery, justifying its new £1,199 starting price—a £200 increase. This staggered approach reflects Samsung's strategy of alternating which tablet variant receives major updates annually, leaving consumers who prefer smaller tablets waiting until 2027 for an upgrade.

The Tab S12 Plus boasts a 12.6-inch display that is brighter and larger than its predecessor despite the device being thinner and lighter overall, paired with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset (two generations ahead of the previous 9300 Plus) and an increased 10,600mAh battery. The Tab S12 Ultra, meanwhile, sees only a chipset bump and upgraded four-channel spatial audio from its predecessor, with its 14.6-inch display, 11,600mAh battery, and 5.1mm thickness remaining unchanged—yet it carries a £200 premium to £1,399. Both tablets feature bright OLED displays with 1,600 nits peak brightness, IP68ratings, seven years of Android updates, included S Pen styluses, and will launch on 7 October, with Samsung offering a six-month exclusive for Adobe Photoshop for Tablets on Android.
