Samsung's new QS90H soundbar ($1,000) drops the separate wireless subwoofer that has typically accompanied premium soundbars, instead relying on redesigned built-in woofers to produce adequate bass on its own. This follows Sonos's Arc Ultra, launched in 2024, as one of the few soundbars to genuinely deliver credible low-end sound without an external unit, and Engadget's review finds Samsung has largely succeeded with a similar approach.

Physically similar to last year's QS700F but roughly 3.5 inches wider, the QS90H packs 13 drivers (up from eight) to make room for the extra bass output. It carries a broad features list including wireless Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony, SpaceFit Sound Pro room calibration and AI Dynamic Bass Control, though some functions still require a compatible Samsung TV. Its Convertible Fit system, which uses a gyro sensor to adjust audio output whether the soundbar is laid flat or wall-mounted, is highlighted as working effectively, with the review awarding the device 8.8/10 while noting it may be underpowered for larger rooms and comes at a premium price.
