San Sebastián Co-Production Forum: Celina Murga, Mariana Rondón, Matias Mariani, Santiago Loza and Christopher Murray Among Selected

Variety · 3 hours ago

San Sebastián’s 2026 Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum has selected 15 film projects, including new works from established Latin American arthouse directors Celina Murga, Mariana Rondón, Matias Mariani, Santiago Loza and Christopher Murray. Running from 21 to 23 September, the Forum is a major industry meeting point for filmmakers seeking international financing and production partners, underlining its importance to Latin American independent cinema.

The line-up also includes emerging filmmakers and first features, such as Selma Cervantes’s “Mourning Sound”, produced by Michel Franco’s Teorema, and projects by Ernesto Martínez, Ingrid Pokropek, Giorgio Giampà and Azul Vanni. Selected titles include Murga’s “The Rehearsals”, Mariani’s “Nature Boy”, Rondón’s “Looking for Sam”, Murray’s “Giant Stones” and Felipe Solari Yrigoyen’s “The Amateurs”, a Chilean-Argentine project set around a missing Maltese Falcon statuette at an eccentric film-character convention.
