Sanfic Industria Projects: ‘A Powerful Selection of Debut Films With Experienced Producers Behind Them’ Says SI Head Gabriela Sandoval

Sanfic Industria’s 15th edition runs from 2 to 6 November alongside the Santiago International Film Festival, showcasing emerging filmmakers and adding new programmes for genre cinema and literary adaptations. Its organisers aim to connect first-time directors with experienced filmmakers and producers, while broadening opportunities for women working in genre film.

The Santiago Lab selected 16 fiction and 17 documentary projects from more than 300 applications. New initiatives include an online showcase for six genre films in post-production, a Southern Cone edition of Sitges’ Woman in Fan Lab, and a Books at Berlinale programme: two of eight Chilean projects will be chosen to represent the country in 2027, with travel and accommodation covered.
