Satanic Planet, featuring Dave Lombardo, has released “Church Burning”, the latest single from its forthcoming album Dead Deities, due on 30 October through Relapse Records. The song addresses an arson attack on The Satanic Temple’s headquarters in Salem in 2022 and presents the band’s opposition to religious violence, theocracy and authoritarianism.

The group comprises Lucien Greaves, Luke Henshaw, Lombardo and Justin Pearson, and describes the album as aggressive dark music combining heavy drums, synths, noise interludes and group vocals. Dead Deities contains eight tracks, including “Sam Alito’s Mom”, which references abortion rights and The Satanic Temple’s related activism, including its three clinics and plans for a fourth.
