Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival has cancelled its 2026 edition and postponed the event’s sixth edition to the fourth quarter of 2027. The Red Sea Film Foundation said the decision followed a review of factors affecting the festival’s timing, including the logistical demands of hosting an international event of its scale.

The foundation said the festival would return in 2027 with a renewed vision. It pledged to continue showcasing cinema and filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the wider region and around the world, but gave no further details about the revised schedule or programme.
