Scotland enjoyed their best day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, winning eight medals – including two golds – in a five-hour spell on Wednesday, taking their overall tally to 23 as the Games passed the halfway stage. It was the host nation's biggest single-day haul since Birmingham 2022, driven by strong performances in swimming, athletics and basketball across venues including Tollcross, Scotstoun and the SEC.

Swimmers Angharad Evans and Keanna MacInnes each collected an individual medal plus a relay medal, with Evans winning gold in the 200m breaststroke, while Toni Shaw added a bronze in the S9 100m freestyle. On the track, Melanie Woods won gold in the women's T54 1500m, and Steven MacKenzie claimed a surprise long jump bronze. Scotland's men's 3×3 basketball team and women's wheelchair 3×3 team both reached the podium, and the overall medal tally now stands at nine gold, seven silver and seven bronze, with further medals expected in boxing, athletics, bowls, cycling, judo and weightlifting.
