Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has confirmed the thrash metal band will tour Brazil again in 2027, as part of the cycle supporting their forthcoming album Cursum Perficio. He also raised the possibility that the record, the band's first in a decade, could end up being their final full-length release, though he insisted there are no concrete plans to disband.

Speaking to Rolling Stone Brasil, Ian said the album is due out in September, with the "real tour" beginning in January and Brazilian dates expected sometime in 2027. He explained that after roughly two years of touring, the band members will be around 65 and will reassess, potentially releasing standalone songs rather than another full album. Ian had previously stoked speculation in a May interview about whether the album's Latin title, meaning "I complete my journey," hinted at a farewell, but stopped short of confirming it. Cursum Perficio is released on 18th September via Megaforce Records and Nuclear Blast.
