Prime Video unveiled the first teaser for Blade Runner 2099 at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans their initial look at the ten-episode series nearly five years after Ridley Scott first announced the spin-off of his 1982 film and its 2017 sequel, Blade Runner 2049. The show, from showrunner Silka Luisa, is set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049 and depicts a Los Angeles rebuilt not by humans but by Replicants following a successful uprising, exploring what it means to be human once humanity is no longer dominant.

The series stars Michelle Yeoh as Olwen, a dying Replicant, and Hunter Schafer as Cora, a fugitive who becomes a Blade Runner and is paired with Olwen to track down a runaway hiding a dangerous secret. The cast also includes Hugo Hamlet and several other actors in roles yet to be revealed, and Luisa has said the series remains faithful to the original's noir tone while weaving in a mystery tied to the franchise's mythology. Blade Runner 2099 is set to premiere on Prime Video on 25 November 2026.
