In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she framed the release as the start of a broader musical venture, hinting that an EP or album is the likely next step, and expressed a wish for audiences to see sides of her beyond reality television.

The debut arrives during a turbulent period for the show, which has stayed in the headlines for months. Production on season five was halted in March after castmate Taylor Frankie Paul became involved in a domestic assault investigation, while other developments have included Jessi Draper kissing Hope's ex-husband Chase McWhorter, Whitney Leavitt announcing her departure after season five, the unveiling of a spinoff, and Layla Taylor publicly coming out as bisexual. Hope, who is originally from a small town in Idaho and was engaged at 19 and married at 20, said the show reignited a childhood ambition to make music, and cited her country roots as central to her sound while noting she remains open to a future in the pop genre — and would "never say never" to joining The Bachelor franchise.
