A new documentary, "If These Walls Could Rock", tells the story of West Hollywood's Sunset Marquis Hotel, a discreet retreat that has hosted rock musicians for more than 60 years and become a backdrop to countless music-industry stories. Directed by Tyler Measom and Craig A. Williams, the film uses archival footage, animation and interviews to explore both the hotel's celebrity history and the personal story of founder George Rosenthal and his son Mark, who built it into a landmark destination.

The documentary features interviews with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Slash, Dave Grohl, Cyndi Lauper, Morrissey, Sheryl Crow, Roger Daltrey and Nancy Wilson, among others. It opens on 14 August at the Landmark Sunset theatre in Los Angeles with post-screening Q&A sessions, while also launching simultaneously on Apple TV and Amazon. The project was produced by former MTV executives Rick Krim, Robert Friedman and Mike Powers alongside Mark Rosenthal, David Thurston and Alexis Thurston, and grew out of a chance meeting between the two directors while working on Paramount+'s "I Wanna Rock: The '80s Metal Dream".
