Sega announces Crazy Taxi World Tour network test dates and signups

Polygon · 2 hours ago

Sega has announced a closed network test for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, giving selected players an early chance to try two online multiplayer modes ahead of the game's 2027 release. The test matters as an early gauge of how the revived franchise's new social features will land with players before launch, and offers fans a rare hands-on preview well over a year before release.

The test runs from 11 to 13 September, featuring the modes Pickup Race, where up to six players compete to drop off passengers for cash within a time limit, and Cops 'N' Cabbies, a three-team, six-player mode. It will include two maps, four characters and six customisable cars, with cross-play supported across PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X; registration is open until 31 August via the game's website. Sega also released a new trailer showcasing the West Coast map, confirming licensed real-world locations including IHOP and Amoeba Music, alongside earlier reveals for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, PC and Xbox Series X versions.
