Selma Blair has joined the cast of *Schmoolie the Deathwatcher*, a mystical coming-of-age film directed by Bridget Stokes and written by Theresa Burkhart Gallagher. Set in Los Angeles during Purim, it follows four misfit Jewish teenagers and explores grief, anxiety, disability, sexual identity and growing up, with supernatural elements.

Isaac Krasner plays the title character, with Blair as his aunt; Luenell, Ariel Martin, David Mazouz and Sania Halifa are also in the cast. Production is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in late February. Gallagher, Diana C. Zollicoffer and Lindsay Lanzillotta are producing, while Sias Wilson of Soft Parade is handling international sales.
