Antoine Semenyo will miss eight weeks with a knee injury, leaving Manchester City with fewer options to cover for Erling Haaland. Haaland is a doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League match against AEK Athens after hurting his foot, as City seek to recover from last week’s defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

Semenyo was injured against Ipswich, where Haaland, Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Nico O’Reilly also appeared to pick up knocks. Manager Enzo Maresca said Phil Foden and Iliman Ndiaye could be alternatives up front, while noting City face seven matches in 21 days this month amid international commitments and limited time to train.
