The Court of Arbitration for Sport will hear Senegal’s appeal on 8 October after the country was stripped of its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title. The case matters because Senegal originally won the final against hosts Morocco, but the Confederation of African Football later ruled that Senegal had forfeited the match and awarded Morocco the trophy.

Senegal beat Morocco 1-0 after extra time, having briefly left the pitch when Morocco received a stoppage-time penalty; after a 17-minute delay, Brahim Diaz’s penalty was saved and Pape Gueye scored the winner. Caf subsequently awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory, and Senegal appealed on 25 March seeking reinstatement as champions; the hearing in Lausanne will be private, and no decision is expected on the day.
