‘Sentimental Value’ Screenwriter Gets Backing For Next Directorial Feature
Dual Oscar nominee Eskil Vogt has received Norwegian Film Institute funding for his next directing project, an untitled psychological thriller. The support marks a further step in the career of a writer best known for collaborating with Joachim Trier, including on Sentimental Value and The Worst Person in the World.
The institute awarded Vogt $1 million (NOK 10 million) towards the film, which will explore art, power, memory and truth and has an estimated $11 million total budget. Vogt will write and direct his third feature after Blind (2014) and The Innocents (2021), with Maria Ekerhovd and Lars Thomas Skare of Mer Films producing.
