‘Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets’ Classic Songs on His New Album: Here’s the Release Date
Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy and Ted, is releasing a new album titled Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets on 18 September via Verve Records/Republic Records. The 14-track record sees the actor and singer, already known for several Great American Songbook albums, turn his attention to beloved music from The Muppets' film and television history, reinterpreting them in an orchestral style reminiscent of golden-era arrangers such as Nelson Riddle and Billy May.
The collection draws on songs from The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Sesame Street and The Muppet Show, including well-known numbers such as "Rainbow Connection" and lead single "Bein' Green". It was arranged by Andrew Cottee, produced by Joel McNeely and recorded at Skywalker Ranch in California with musicians from London and Los Angeles conducted by John Wilson; one track, "Movin' Right Along", features Liz Gillies. The album is now available for pre-order and follows MacFarlane's most recent release, last year's Lush Life: The Lost Sinatra Arrangements.
