Seth Meyers Launches ‘A Closer Look’ Podcast During Long Hiatus
Seth Meyers, currently on an extended summer break from "Late Night", has launched a spin-off video podcast called "A Closer Look Out of Office" with writer Sal Gentile to cover news stories they have missed during the hiatus. The show is an offshoot of the programme's popular "A Closer Look" segment, allowing the pair to keep engaging with current events even while the main series is off air.
Meyers has been away for an unusually long stretch this year, off between 18 June and 13 July, back for two weeks, then off again from 30 July until his eventual return on 21 September, a far longer break than in previous years. On the podcast, he and Gentile joked about the news they had missed, including President Trump using a decoy catering truck instead of boarding Air Force One, and further unrest involving Iran, with the number of episodes yet to be confirmed.
