Seven people have been charged over alleged vandalism at Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire, with prosecutors alleging that the offence had a “terrorist connection”. The case concerns pro-Gaza slogans and damage at the resort in March 2025, and the allegation is significant because it could affect how the alleged conduct is treated by the courts.

The indictment alleges that turf was dug up, glyphosate was sprayed on fairways and greens, paint was sprayed on buildings and signage, and a sprinkler system and light were damaged. It also alleges that political slogans, including “Gaza is not for sale”, were painted or cut into the grounds; three defendants face an additional allegation involving false vehicle registration plates. A preliminary hearing due in Glasgow has been postponed until October, and the Crown Office said it would not comment while proceedings are live.
