Collider · 3 hours ago

Adam Scott, best known for *Severance*, is returning to Netflix in *The Whisper Man*, a serial killer thriller in which his character searches for his missing son. Executive-produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film arrives ahead of their much-anticipated *Avengers: Doomsday*, and marks one of Netflix's more notable summer releases amid a period when several recent Marvel titles have underperformed with audiences.

Directed by New Zealand filmmaker James Ashcroft and based on Alex North's 2019 novel of the same name, the film pairs Scott with Robert De Niro, who plays his estranged father, alongside a cast including Michelle Monaghan, Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch and Hamish Linklater. It premieres on Netflix on 28 August, the same day as the Spanish-language romance series *All the Truth in My Lies*.
