Country star Shaboozey has released his fourth studio album, *The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales*, featuring a spoken-word appearance from veteran Hollywood actor Sam Elliott. The album, out on 31 July, marks Shaboozey's first release in more than two years, following on from his chart-topping 2024 record *Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going*, which included the No. 1 hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)". Elliott, known for his roles in westerns and war films such as *Tombstone* and *We Were Soldiers*, was recruited to bring his trademark rugged, frontier persona to the project.

Elliott lends his voice to the track "Don't Count Down", a spoken interlude in which he plays a lawman confronting an outlaw, bridging the songs "Bullets & Blades" (featuring Kehlani) and "Lone Survivor". The album, which runs to over a dozen tracks, also features a broad roster of guest artists including Leon Bridges, Gunna, Orville Peck, Teyana Taylor and Jamie Foxx. Shaboozey described working alongside Elliott and Foxx as a dream collaboration come true.
