Shaboozey's new concept album, "The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales," has debuted across several Billboard charts, topping the Independent Albums chart and reaching No. 12 on the all-genre Billboard 200. The record follows his breakthrough 2024 album "Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going," which produced the hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," and marks a shift towards a fully realised Western narrative concept, a format rarely attempted in modern country music.

The 20-track album, released via American Dogwood/EMPIRE, earned 31,000 equivalent album units in its first week (31 July–6 August) and also opened at No. 3 on Americana/Folk Albums and No. 4 on Top Country Albums, according to Luminate. It tells the story of a fictional title character through songs and spoken-word interludes voiced by Sam Elliott, Jamie Foxx and Teyana Taylor, with musical guests including Leon Bridges, Gunna, Kehlani and Orville Peck. The release has also driven chart activity on Hot Country Songs, with "Cowgirl" reaching a new peak of No. 11 and both "Bullets & Blades" (featuring Kehlani) and "Burn It Down" (featuring Bridges) debuting, giving Kehlani and Bridges their first entries on that chart.
