Shane Gillis Breaks Guinness World Record for Most Tickets Sold for a Solo Comedy Show (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety · 14 hours ago

Comedian Shane Gillis has set a new Guinness World Record for the most tickets sold for a solo comedy show, after selling 76,212 tickets for his 17 July performance at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. Guinness World Records confirmed the figure via adjudicator Andy Glass, and the achievement caps a remarkably successful run for the Pennsylvania-raised comic, who is also on course to break the separate record for the largest live audience ever for a comedian once verified attendance figures from the stadium show are counted.

That attendance record is currently held by German comedian Mario Barth, who drew 67,733 people to Berlin's Olympiastadion in 2008; Gillis's ticket sales suggest he will surpass this. Guinness set the minimum threshold for the new tickets-sold record at 54,000, while Japanese comic Naomi Watanabe holds the equivalent record for a solo female comedian, having sold 44,356 tickets for a Tokyo Dome show in February 2026. Gillis, who recently hosted Netflix's "Roast of Kevin Hart," has sold over a million tickets and set 34 venue records across more than 100 headline shows in the past two years.
