Country pop star Shania Twain has released a new album, Little Miss Twain, which she describes as an autobiographical project that reconnects her superstar persona with the young girl who performed covers in Canadian motel bars before her breakthrough. Speaking on Rolling Stone's Nashville Now podcast, the 60-year-old said the record fills in the largely unknown decades of her life before her first Top 10 hit at age 30, tracing her formative years in Timmins, Ontario, including the loss of her parents in a car accident when she was 22.

The album features guest appearances from Tanya Tucker, the War and Treaty, Ronnie Wood and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, with Homme's inclusion on the track "Faded Blue Jeans" suggested by producer Zach Dawes. Twain also discussed her sizeable queer fan base, saying her inclusivity comes through naturally in her songwriting, and reflected on performing this summer as an opening act for all 12 of Harry Styles' Wembley Stadium shows in London.
