Sydney shark attack survivor Leah Stewart has revealed she faces a second skin graft, almost three months after a great white shark attacked her while she was swimming at Coogee Beach. Ms Stewart, 35, has already had several operations, including the amputation of her left arm below the elbow, and is now managing an ongoing open wound on her leg while she waits for the graft to be carried out.

In a social media video, the teacher showed a portable device attached to the wound that draws together the skin and drains excess fluid, describing it as a "medical handbag" that beeps if disturbed and needs regular recharging. The update came days after Melbourne radio hosts Kate Langbroek, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody, on 101.9 The Fox, questioned the accuracy of her account given to 60 Minutes, with Fevola accusing her of embellishing details such as deciding which arm to use to punch the shark. Langbroek defended Ms Stewart, likening her instinctive reaction to that of surfer Mick Fanning during his own shark encounter in 2015.
