Sharon Osbourne: Black Sabbath Bandmates “Didn’t Know How Sick Ozzy Was” at Final Concert
Sharon Osbourne said she kept the severity of Ozzy Osbourne’s illness from his Black Sabbath bandmates and even their children before the band’s final concert. Doctors warned the performance could kill him, but Ozzy insisted it was what he wanted, making the show a deeply personal final wish.
At the 5 July 2025 “Back to the Beginning” concert in Birmingham, Ozzy performed solo and with Black Sabbath, despite struggling and hoping his lungs would let him sing. Sharon said the show lifted his spirits and he remained joyful about it until his death, 17 days later, aged 76. A film capturing the concert and other artists’ performances is due in cinemas on 28 October.
