Experimental rock band Shearling have announced a new EP, titled Don't Look At Me The Way A Dog Might Look At Your Leg, due for release this week. It follows the band's acclaimed 2025 debut, the single-track album Motherfucker, I Am Both: "Amen" And "Hallelujah"…, and marks a shift towards more conventional, song-based structures while retaining the group's distinctive style. Shearling features members Alex Kent and Sylvie Simmons, previously of the band Sprain, and is known for a divisive, extreme musical approach.

The five-track EP is out on 31 July via Mishap, with pre-orders now available. Its lead single, "Believe Me (Dust)", is a five-minute acoustic ballad described as building steadily "toward the light", and has been suggested as an accessible entry point for newcomers to the band. Despite promotional suggestions that the record would be a companion piece to the debut album, it is instead described as "a step adjacent" to it.
