Sheff Wed forward Lowe racially abused on social media
Sheffield Wednesday forward Jamal Lowe says his wife received repeated racist messages about him on Instagram after he was sent off in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat at Notts County. The club condemned the abuse, and the UK Policing Football Unit is investigating, according to BBC Sport.
Lowe, a 32-year-old Jamaica international with five goals in 10 League One appearances this season, urged people to challenge racist behaviour and called for parents to educate their children. It is the second reported incident involving a Wednesday player after a match this year; in 2024, the club was fined £12,500 and a fan was banned for five years over a racist gesture towards Coventry’s Kasey Palmer.

- Jamal Lowe’s wife received repeated racist messages about him.
