Police are investigating after a firearm was discharged at a property on Fieldhead Road, Sheffield, in the early hours of Monday. No one was injured, but South Yorkshire Police described the incident as an appalling attack in a built-up area.

Officers were called at 12.02am, around five minutes after the gun was fired, and found evidence consistent with a firearms discharge. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright urged witnesses to come forward, including anyone with information that might seem insignificant; information can be given to police or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
