Sheffield musician Joe Carnall Jnr, known for his work with bands Milburn and Reverend and The Makers, is launching his debut musical "How Could I Forget?" on tour across Yorkshire theatres this autumn. The intimate production explores memory, family and connection through live music and heartfelt storytelling, drawing directly from the creator's personal experience witnessing his grandfather's battle with Alzheimer's disease.

The narrative follows Billy, a young man navigating life as his grandfather Jack faces dementia, with the story shifting between past and present across different decades centred around a family living room piano. The musical will be staged in Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Hull, featuring a diverse range of musical styles from folk and indie to soaring ballads, and was inspired partly by Glen Campbell's documentary—the country star who continued performing despite his own dementia diagnosis.
