Sheffield Parkway was closed for several hours overnight after a "serious" incident prompted a police and air ambulance response. The closure disrupted travel towards Sheffield Business Park and Costco, and comes as authorities have yet to confirm full details of what occurred.

The incident is believed to have happened just before midnight on 9 September, with eyewitnesses reporting that a person was taken away from the scene. The affected carriageway had reportedly reopened by around 4am, though this had not been officially confirmed by South Yorkshire Police, who have been approached for further comment.
