Sheffield’s Rose Garden Café in Graves Park is set for a £60,000 refurbishment, four years after closing in 2022. A partnership involving Sheffield City Council, the Friends of Graves Park and the Save the Rose Garden Café campaign secured planning permission after a community-led effort to preserve and reopen the landmark.

More than £60,000 has been raised so far, comprising £37,500 from community fundraising and £23,000 in grants, although further fundraising is needed. The plans include a single-storey extension, a rebuilt front wall, a new roof, windows and doors, conservation rooflights, solar panels, air source heat pumps and restoration of historic features. A public meeting is scheduled at the café on 19 October.
