Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Aston Villa playmaker Tommi O’Reilly on a season-long loan. The move would see the Owls potentially beat League One rivals Huddersfield Town to a player previously linked with the Terriers, strengthening Wednesday’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

O’Reilly, 22, impressed on loan at Crewe Alexandra during the 2025–26 season, finishing as League Two’s leading assist provider. Huddersfield and Bolton Wanderers had been associated with him earlier in the transfer window, while Wednesday’s talks with Villa are understood to be progressing without a completed deal yet.
