Sheryl Crow has returned to the world of Pixar's Cars franchise, debuting a new song called "Built To Last" as the theme for the upcoming spinoff series Cars: Lightning Racers. The reveal came at Disney's D23 expo, marking two decades since Crow's "Real Gone" featured in the original 2006 Cars film, and comes as the singer, now a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, prepares to release her seventh studio album this autumn.

Cars: Lightning Racers is set to launch on Disney Jr and Disney+ next year, and according to Billboard its soundtrack will include "Built To Last" alongside ten further original songs written by Crow. Notably, "Real Gone" remains one of her most-streamed tracks on Spotify despite never achieving the same cultural ubiquity as Rascal Flatts' cover of "Life Is A Highway" from the same film. Crow performed both songs live at the D23 expo, with a clip of "Built To Last" shared on social media.
