Sheryl Crow to Receive BMI’s Troubadour Award

BMI will honour Sheryl Crow with its Troubadour Award at a private event in Nashville on 14 September. The award recognises songwriters whose work has had a lasting influence on American music, placing Crow alongside previous recipients including John Prine, Lucinda Williams and John Fogerty.

The ceremony will include performances and tributes to Crow’s career. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and nine-time Grammy winner, she holds the record for the most Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1s by a female artist, with seven between 1996 and 2005; she has also received 12 BMI Awards and eight Million-Air awards.
