Disney+ has announced a November premiere for "The Remarried Empress," a 10-part Korean drama based on the hugely popular Naver Webtoon series, which has amassed nearly three billion views. The series follows Empress Navier of the Eastern Kingdom as her marriage collapses after Emperor Sovieshu becomes infatuated with a runaway slave, prompting Navier to negotiate a union with a rival monarch that sets off a wider power struggle. Its high-profile cast and source material's popularity make it a notable addition to Disney+'s growing roster of Korean Originals.

The show stars Shin Mina as Empress Navier, Ju Jihoon as Emperor Sovieshu, Lee Jongsuk as Crown Prince Heinrey, and Lee Seyoung as Rashta, with Cho Suwon directing from a screenplay adapted by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol. Filmed across European palaces and other elaborate sets, the series will first screen three of its ten episodes at the Busan International Film Festival in October before its full Disney+ rollout, which begins with a four-episode premiere on 4 November and continues with two episodes weekly until the finale on 25 November. It joins other Korean Originals on the platform, including "Made In Korea," "Tempest" and "Moving."
